Looking for a Paddling Course?

Please check the list of instructors. You can make contact with instructors closest to your area and the paddling discipline you are interested in. i.e. canoeing (lakewater, moving water, poling) and kayaking (sea, flatwater, river).

For 2011, CKNB will be providing both Paddle Canada and CKNB certified courses.

In 2010, CKNB, in partnership with the Department of Education (Keith McAlpine) workd to:

  1. Increase number of instructors for the Outdoor Pursuits program
  2. Encourage courses in the school system No fee for school students New CKNB program for schools

New CKNB Courses:

  • Basic Canoeing (LW Instructor)
  • Lakewater Tripping (CT Instructor or LW Instructor) —- for school originally
  • River Tripping (WW Instructor)
  • Canoe Dance (LWS Inter Instructor with workshop*)
  • Canoe Poling (CP Instructor)
  • Big Canoe (LW Inter with BC workshop*)
  • Modern Touring (TBD)
  • Introduction to Moving Water

*Workshops for Big Canoe were held in June 2010 in order to start the Big Canoe Program in NB.

Canoe Lakewater Tandem Introductory and Big Canoe Intermediate Instructor Courses were offered in 2010

Re-certification clinic can also be held if there is a need.

2012 Paddling Course

Moving Water Canoe Tripping

Although Paddle Canada’s Program of Instruction is a National Program, if you are planning to conduct a course in another province or territory, it is your responsibility to obtain the permission of, and to satisfy the membership requirements of, that Paddle Canada Federated Member (where one exists).
